Guided Practice - using a table Insert table

Show the students how to breakdown numbers using table and the expended form.

Insert table by:
hundred millions
ten millions
one millions
hundred thousands
ten thousands

ones

use the following numbers:
851,287,128
712,623,532
112,921,982
561,761,835

From the above table, the place value of each digit in the number 851,287,128 is as follows:
8 - hundred millions
5- ten millions
1 - one millions
2 - hundred thousands
8 - ten thousands
7 - one thousands
1 - hundreds
2 - tens
8 - ones




**When we read numbers, we say "millions", "thousands" or ones only after the ONE MILLION, ONE THOUSAND, or ONE place.
For example, in 851,287,128, we do not say:
eight hundred million fifty million one million two hundred thousand eighty thousand seven thousand one hundred twenty eight
NO!
We say it only after the ONE MILLION, ONE THOUSAND, or ONE place. (A good hint is to say it right before the comma!)
So, in 851,287,128, we say:
eight hundred fifty one MILLION, two hundred eighty seven THOUSAND, one hundred twenty eight
YES! :)

therefor 851,287,128= 800 000 000+50 000 000+1 000 000+200 000 +80 000+7000+100+20+8

The number is as 851million, 287 thousand, 1hundred, 2 tens,8 ones.

We reead this number as, eight hundred fifty one million, two hundred eighty seven thousand, one hundred twenty-eight.

Write this a single number:
