<p>D'un milieu <a href="http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bourgeoisie" title="Bourgeoisie">bourgeois</a> et fortement marqué par le <a href="http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protestantisme" title="Protestantisme">protestantisme</a> et les <a href="http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soci%C3%A9t%C3%A9_religieuse_des_Amis_%28quakers%29" title="Société religieuse des Amis (quakers)" class="mw-redirect">quakers</a>, elle effectue sa scolarité au lycée <a href="http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jules_Ferry" title="Jules Ferry">Jules Ferry</a> d'Antananarivo à <a href="Madagascar.html" title="Madagascar">Madagascar</a>. Son père était journaliste, sa mère bibliothécaire, et elle passe beaucoup de temps chez son grand-père qui était médecin.</p>
<p>Elle quitte Madagascar en <a href="http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/1983" title="1983">1983</a> pour des raisons politiques et arrive à <a href="http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris" title="Paris">Paris</a> où elle obtient un <a href="http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dipl%C3%B4me_d%27%C3%A9tudes_approfondies" title="Diplôme d'études approfondies">DEA</a> en <a href="http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sociologie" title="Sociologie">sociologie</a>.
Elle a été professeur de lettres malgaches, journaliste à la radio
(Radio France Internationale et France Culture) et à la télévision (<a href="http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/RFO" title="RFO" class="mw-redirect">RFO</a>) et responsable des manifestations littéraires à <a href="http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_France_internationale" title="Radio France internationale">RFI</a>.</p>
